Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) seeks a contract full-time Statewide Roadside Communication Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and support roadside communication systems, ITS devices, and related monitoring equipment across the state. This role requires statewide travel and collaboration with field crews and contractors to ensure reliable operation of critical infrastructure.

You will install and inspect equipment, coordinate installations, document activities, and

Qualifications

• IP network administration and planning.
• Knowledge of network design: broadband, radio, fiber.
• Knowledge of ITS and traffic control devices.
• Ability to provide expert support for Emergency Communication and ITS technicians.
• Understanding contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test roadside communication systems and ITS devices.
• Install, configure, inspect, and maintain roadside communication equipment.
• Coordinate with contractors and field crews on installations and repairs.
• Provide technical support for WYDOT programs such as WyoLink, Patrol, Dispatch.
• Document maintenance activities and testing results.
• Perform statewide field visits to inspect equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and technical standards.
