Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) seeks a Construction and Field Survey Technician to join our Evanston, Wyoming team. You will support planning, design, and construction of highway projects statewide, ensuring safety and quality through field surveys, testing, and inspection.

Responsibilities include site inspections, topographic surveys, materials testing, and QA/QC for earthwork, paving, and bridges. Strong teamwork and adaptability in diverse weather are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of progressive work experience in Construction and Field Surveying or an Associate's Degree
• Knowledge of surveying methods and equipment operation
• Understanding of materials testing and documentation of project records

Responsibilities

• Inspects construction projects and prepares project records.
• Performs topographic surveys and testing (gradation, density, concrete).
• Operates surveying equipment and conducts basic engineering calculations.
• Maintains traffic control plans and coordinates with contractors.
• Assists in permitting processes and project file maintenance.
