Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Maintenance Technician to join the Meeteetse team, performing routine and emergency maintenance on Wyoming’s highway system to keep roads safe and reliable. This on-site role emphasizes equipment operation and traffic control.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months, with training in First Aid/CPR and flagger certification.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate and maintain highway maintenance equipment safely.
• Must be able to obtain necessary certifications and operate traffic control devices.
• Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months of hire.
• Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR, and Flagger certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain highway maintenance equipment safely.
• Provide work direction to Highway Maintenance Assistant employees.
• Flag traffic and set up traffic control devices.
• Perform snow/ice removal and other road maintenance tasks.
