Job summary

State of Wyoming seeks a contract full-time Statewide Roadside Communication Technician to maintain and support roadside communication systems across the state. You will diagnose issues, repair ITS devices, coordinate with crews and contractors, and assist with radio upgrade projects to ensure reliable operations statewide.

Extensive travel and the ability to climb towers are required. WYDOT emphasizes safety and adherence to procedures while supporting WyoLink, Patrol, and Dispatch programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IP networks, including building IP plans and security protocols.
• Knowledge of contracts and contract administration with external sources.
• Knowledge of network design including broadband, radio, fiber and other methods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test roadside communication systems and ITS devices.
• Install, configure, inspect, and maintain roadside equipment and components.
• Assist with statewide roadside radio upgrade projects and testing.
• Provide technical support for WYDOT communication systems and programs.
• Diagnose malfunctions and implement corrective actions to restore functionality.
• Coordinate with contractors and WYDOT personnel on installation, maintenance, and repairs.
• Conduct statewide field visits to inspect equipment and support operations.
