Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) in La Barge is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician to help maintain and repair highways, operate specialized equipment, and respond to changing roadway and weather conditions. Qualifications

• Knowledge of highway pavement marking and signing standards.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of safety and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates complex equipment safely and proficiently.
• Assists with training other technicians in operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices.
• Operates trucks with plows, wing plows, and other snow/removal equipment.
• Rehabilitates and maintains roadway surfaces and traffic control devices.
• Performs required training and certs, inspections, and learns new skills.
• Communicates work status and process improvements.
• Uses agency computers for training and evaluations, adapts to new tech.
• Removes snow/ice from roadways and assesses treatment effectiveness.
• Adheres to state/federal safety standards and PPE.
