Job summary

The State of West Virginia seeks an IT Director for the DCR Central Office to provide statewide leadership for core IT operations, information security, and data system modernization. The role directs technical support, infrastructure, project management, application development, and system administration across all DCR facilities.

Qualifications

• Six years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in computer programming, office automation planning, purchasing and implementation of hardware and software, teleprocessing, system analysis, or supervision of computer operations.
• A major in computer science may substitute for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide statewide IT leadership for core IT operations, information security, and data system modernization.
• Direct and oversee IT operations, network infrastructure, hardware, software, and surveillance systems across all DCR facilities and offices.
• Oversee statewide IT projects, data system modernization, and inter-agency collaboration to build scalable, optimized solutions.
• Manage the IT budget by reviewing expenditures, reconciling invoices, and approving IT purchases.
• Develop workforce development initiatives and staff mentorship; conduct performance appraisals for IT personnel.
• Ensure IT policies align with state mandates and security standards; maintain IT procedures across all facilities.
