Job summary

State of Louisiana is seeking an IT Statewide Systems Technician to provide end user computing support across multiple offices. The role includes field and remote support, project deployment leadership, and close collaboration with OTS teams and vendor partners.

Responsibilities include incident handling, asset management, network device support, and training end users. Travel throughout the domiciled region and statewide is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in information technology; OR six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years in information technology; OR an associate's degree in information technology plus two years of information technology; OR a bachelor’s degree plus two years of information technology; OR a bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics plus one year of information technology; OR a master’s degree plus one year of information technology.
• EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. Max substitution is 120 semester hours (4 years).
• NOTE: A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the first point of contact to provide end user support and manage service requests; perform hardware and software troubleshooting; manage user accounts and assets; provide feedback to customers on incidents; assist with system testing and deployments; lead and participate in large-scale hardware and software deployment projects.
• Uses the ticketing system to log work orders, document solutions, and support statewide emergency preparedness activities; create project documentation and end user training guides; perform installation, maintenance, and configuration of software and applications; liaise with end users, OTS teams, and vendors for issue resolution.
• Acts as technical lead for onsite and remote end user hardware, software, and application support; deploys/ configures mobile devices; leads hardware/software deployments; travels within the region and state as needed.
