Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) in Olympia seeks a Behavioral Health - Program Supervisor to lead the statewide behavioral health portfolio within the SESP Division. This full-time, permanent role focuses on guidance, contracts, and statewide supports to districts, ESDs, Tribes, and partners.

The position requires navigating laws, policies, and funding (RCW references) and coordinating with MTSS, Title IV, and school safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and professional experience totaling seven years may substitute for the degree.
• Must reside in the state of Washington as a condition of employment.
• Periodic statewide travel to districts, ESDs, trainings, coordinator meetings, conferences, or incident-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the statewide school-based behavioral health portfolio across OSPI, coordinating with SESP, ESDs, Tribes, and partners.
• Provide guidance, training materials, and technical assistance on behavioral health navigation, suicide prevention, and MTSS alignment.
• Monitor contracts, grants, and statewide supports; manage risk and ensure compliance.
• Engage in interagency collaboration to advance school-based behavioral health policy and funding initiatives.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and executive summaries as required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education, public policy, public administration, public health, social or behavioral sciences, social services, or a closely related field
