Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) is hiring a Maintenance/Construction Technician II for Hammocks Beach State Park in Swansboro, NC. The role involves hands-on maintenance of park grounds, buildings, and equipment with opportunities to supervise staff and volunteers.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in relevant trades. A sign-on bonus may be offered and some certifications could be required within 12–24 months

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year progressive experience in the trades.
• EPA Type I/II/III or Universal technician certification may be required.
• Valid US driver’s license within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled tasks in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance.
• Operate large and small equipment and tools.
• Purchase resources per state policies and maintain records.
• Assist in housekeeping and supervise temp staff, volunteers on projects.
