Job summary

Sifted is hiring a Line Cook for its commissary kitchen in New York City to support daily lunch service for leading startups. You will work alongside an experienced chef in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of prep, plating, and cleanliness.

Requirements include 1–2 years in a full-service setting; culinary degree preferred; bilingual basic English and Spanish is helpful. Compensation is $25 per hour with company-sponsored health insurance, 401(k), PTO, holidays, and free lunch.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare meats and vegetables.
• Maintain station and work areas clean.
• Assist executive chef with production, packout, and cleanup.
• Lead by example on safety and sanitation.
• Label and organize pans and delis; discard outdated product.
• Assist with daily deep-clean tasks and comply with sanitary regulations.
