Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Welder (Starship) at Starbase, TX to build and maintain structural, fluid, and launch pad components. You will weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW, following drawings and procedures for launch infrastructure.

We value 2+ years of hands-on welding, strong safety discipline, and the ability to read blueprints. Expect a fast-paced environment with overtime and on-site work at our South Texas facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; welding program or trade school preferred.
• 2+ years hands-on welding experience in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW; college/vocational training counts.
• Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret welding drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and adherence to AWS D1.1 or ASME codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding assignments for construction, repair, and upgrade of site structures and launch pad systems.
• Weld using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW on carbon, stainless, and aluminum materials.
• Cut, trim, fit, and fabricate metal components to required dimensions.
• Collaborate with lead welder to determine procedures, materials, and filler size.
• Review engineering drawings to plan welding operations.
• Operate hand tools and welding equipment while maintaining quality and safety.
• Visually inspect welds per AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3; pursue required licenses/certifications.
• Support continuous improvements and adapt to changing program needs.
• Work overtime or weekends as required by site needs.
