Qualifications

• Leadership experience supervising a staff of technicians
• Experience applying lean manufacturing principles
• Strong communication with engineering and production teams
• Experience in final assembly in aerospace environments
• Ability to implement Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar improvements

Responsibilities

• Supervise shop floor activity including daily schedules and workflow
• Lead and manage a staff of ~20 technicians including performance management
• Improve process and manpower efficiency, utilization, and productivity
• Review work instructions and recommend changes to engineering and shop floor
• Assess and vet appropriate skillsets; identify training needs
• Develop training programs for current and future mission needs
• Provide data and reporting to support departmental metrics
• Monitor labor hours and overtime; implement improvement plans
• Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor and Appraise results
• Organize and track work/deliverables for multi-shift schedules
• Foster cooperation between departments; ensure product quality
• Maintain tooling and consumable inventory; ensure safety and efficiency
• Audit for safety and continuous improvement
