Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Engineering Manager for Starlink Manufacturing Engineering in Bastrop, Texas. You will lead a team of 60+ engineers and specialists on a two-shift manufacturing floor, guiding all phases from design to production to ensure safety, quality, and high throughput.

As a technical leader, you will develop metrics, drive continuous improvement, coordinate across engineering, supply chain, and production, and ensure manufacturability for new products while maintaining SpaceX's

Qualifications

• Advanced degree with 2+ years in engineering/production/operations or 4+ years with bachelor's, or 8+ years experience.
• 2+ years direct leadership/management experience leading engineers.
• Experience in manufacturing environment and transitioning products to production.
• Comfort on factory floor and efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 60+ engineers and specialists on a 2-shift structure
• Lead the team through all phases of the product life cycle while ensuring all standards and requirements are upheld
• Develop and implement business, manufacturing, and production metrics to measure and optimize productivity in all areas
• Act as the technical decision maker and advisor to the team on manufacturing techniques and test methods that will enable building various subassemblies at rate
• Ensure a strong focus is placed on safety, and maintain an excellent safety record
• Champion continuous improvement projects using data sources and metrics to achieve higher performance
• Work with cross-functional teams to increase production throughput and meet targets with high quality
• Recruit, develop, train, and retain leaders and contributors to deliver for the business and efficiency
