Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX seeks a Supervisor to lead the Machining & Fabrication team, guiding technicians and automation specialists across Starlink-related factory equipment and tooling. You will partner with engineering to advance high-volume manufacturing, PCB fabrication, and new product lines.

The role requires strong leadership, deep machining knowledge, and ability to drive safety and efficiency in a dynamic production environment at a growing SpaceX site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of professional experience in machining, maintenance, or production/manufacturing; OR 5+ years in lieu of a degree.
• 2+ years of professional experience managing a team or leading projects.
• Extensive knowledge of conventional machining, CNC programming, machining operations, and quality inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a group of technicians and specialists that fabricate, build, integrate, and deploy Starlink factory equipment and tooling.
• Collaborate with broader development operations and automation teams to meet deployment targets and milestones.
• Manage tooling, testing equipment, and infrastructure to support engineering, automation, and product development.
• Manage parts inventory, set targets, and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide mentorship to technicians and assist with design decisions, project strategies, and technical problems.
• Provide technical feedback to engineering on tooling, fabrication, testing, and maintenance.
• Ensure team has training, tools, and materials, including safety trainings.
• Identify and execute projects that improve program success and progress.
• Align team priorities with broader program priorities.
