Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Starlink PCBA in Bastrop, TX. You will own the relationship between development and production teams and lead manufacturing on current and next generation Starlink products and AI compute.

You will drive the manufacturing strategy, ensure quality, delivery, and cost metrics, and mentor engineers while advancing plug-and-play processes for high-volume throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science in aerospace, mechanical, systems, electrical, or manufacturing engineering.
• 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading a team of engineers and interns.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and specialists for the Starlink PCBA manufacturing team.
• Implement high-volume production processes (3M+ per year).
• Drive design for test (DFT) and design for manufacturing (DFM) with design engineers.
• Oversee production layout and material flow optimization.
• Mentor engineers and manage recruiting activities.
• Manage documentation and metrics on quality, delivery, cost.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
