Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Hardware Reliability Engineer (Starlink) to tackle systemic production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive design and process improvements for on-orbit reliability. You will work hands-on with hardware, understand sub-assemblies, and collaborate across design and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 2+ years in design/manufacturing engineering.
• Preferred master’s degree and strong problem solving in mechatronics or related fields.
• Experience with reliability and quality practices in fast-paced hardware environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on failure analysis to drive root-cause and corrective actions.
• Develop and validate production processes for existing and next-gen hardware.
• Create data analysis programs to monitor yield and failure rates.
• Conduct build quality reviews and identify opportunities to reduce risk and complexity.
• Collaborate with production to reduce in-process inspections and maintain plans.
• Define reliability testing strategy to monitor process health.
