Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. seeks a General Technician to ensure safe operation and maintenance of audio, lighting and video systems across secondary venues aboard the ship. You will also back up Audio/Lighting Techs and occasionally operate main theatre shows.

Strong English, health, and physical readiness are required, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced review-house setting. Responsibilities include regular system inspections, load-ins/outs, on-duty support, handover notes,

Qualifications

General knowledge of professional audio equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
General knowledge of digital and analogue audio consoles operation.
Basic knowledge of show control and time code distribution.
Basic knowledge of digital audio recording systems and their operation.
Basic knowledge of electrical theory, able to read and follow electrical and system drawings.
Basic knowledge of lighting console operation (GrandMa, GrandMa2, ETC preferred) and lighting instruments.
General knowledge of projection operation.
Basic knowledge in PC hardware & software maintenance and repair.
Good troubleshooting skills with basic repair skills, able to crimp and solder connectors.
Must be able to safely climb an A-frame ladder and operate a Genie lift.

Responsibilities

Two inspections daily for all secondary venues to ensure equipment functionality.
Report equipment failures to Entertainment Technical Manager.
Ensure signal flow and distribution to all devices prior to shows.
Maintain proper sound levels and avoid feedback.
Ensure lighting cues are recalled and fixtures function.
Perform show load-ins/outs in main theatre as needed.
Complete Technical Reports and notify supervisors of faults.
Assist Light Tech with loading pyro after training.
Respond to regular work calls for cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
Operate aft/sub lounge audio, lighting and video equipment for live FOH mixing.
