Job summary

Kingwood Pines Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a staffing coordinator to manage scheduling and staffing across nursing units. The role partners with Nurse Managers and HR to ensure adequate coverage and data-driven decisions.

This on-site position emphasizes scheduling accuracy and proactive workforce planning in a hospital setting near Houston, TX. Qualifications include a high school diploma, CPR and HWC certifications (on-site if needed) and at least two years of healthcare

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current CPR (can be obtained on-site upon employment).
  • Current HWC (can be obtained on-site upon employment).
  • At least two (2) years of healthcare scheduling experience in a clinical or administrative setting required.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks and reports overtime, productivity, tardiness and related metrics with supervisor and HR.
  • Responsible for staffing of the facility and tracking 1:1 and variances as needed.
  • Collaborates with Nurse Managers and units to observe acuity and adjust staffing ongoing.
  • Develops relationships with supervisors to optimize processes, data provision and staffing across shifts.
  • Forecasts and plans succession for nursing department staffing.

Responsibilities

Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES
  • Provides a broad range of tracking and reporting including, yet not limited to, incremental overtime, overtime, productivity, tardiness, per diem requirements, leaving early, call out requirements and coordinating these reports with Direct Supervisor and Human Resources as necessary for corrective action, coaching and education.
  • Responsible for all staffing of facility and tracking of same noting 1:1 and variances as needed.
  • Work with Nurse Managers, Supervisors and units to observe acuity and needs ongoing in order to make needed changes.
  • Develop relationships with supervisors as to processes, reporting and data provision to most effectively staff from shift to shift but to also allow for up to the date data with regards to needs, barriers, variance approvals, staffing and/or unit concerns, etc.
  • Forecast and succession planning of nursing department staffing.
Qualifications
EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
  • Current CPR (can be obtained on-site upon employment)
  • Current HWC (can be obtained on-site upon employment)
EXPERIENCE

At least two (2) years of healthcare scheduling experience either in a clinical setting/role or in an administrative function required.
