The Staffing Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring that all patients are staffed appropriately with caregivers. The staffer will identify and record staffing deficiencies and report clients deficient in services to the Respite Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate or G.E.D.
- Previous medical background experience is preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to read, write, and is fluent in English.
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to deal tactfully with patients, co-workers and visitors.
- Flexible and cooperative.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proficient with Word and Excel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a representation of the major duties and responsibilities of this position. The agency will make reasonable accommodations to allow otherwise qualified applicants with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Responsible for receiving patient referral information.
- Obtains initial authorization verification and follows-up on requested home care services with all agency vendors, private pay and other payer sources.
- Works under the direct supervision of the Respite Manager, for the purpose of staffing, contacts field staff to assign them to provide patient care services.
- Assists the agency in complying with Federal / State regulations and Joint Commission standards, by maintaining the agency staffing records in a current and accurate manner.
- Supports contract/vendors requirements with weekly/monthly reporting. Takes referrals from contracts and under the supervision of DOPCS/Administrator staff with appropriate approved personnel.
- Reports all complaints regarding patient care to direct supervisor.
- Maintains schedule logs, schedule deficiencies and on-call log in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assists with On-Call as directed.
- Attends Department meetings (in person, by phone or on the web).
- Attends all State mandated in service training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use of hands and fingers to operate computer, telephone, and keyboard on a frequent basis, up to 75% of the time.
- Close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required up to 25lbs.
