Talisman Advisory Partners LLC is seeking an ambitious Associate Consultant to join our Houston Sales Academy. You will learn to connect energy project professionals with developers, utilities and EPC firms, focusing on contract staffing across engineering, construction and operations.

You’ll train under experienced leaders, develop a specialized Houston market, and build a 360° recruitment desk with strong CRM discipline and business development support.

The Opportunity

talisman is a specialist search and talent advisory firm focused on the energy and infrastructure sectors. We partner with developers, utilities, owner/operators and engineering, procurement and construction businesses across North America.

We’re looking for an ambitious Associate Consultant to join our Sales Academy and help build our Energy Contract Staffing team in Houston.

Through structured training and direct mentorship from experienced leaders, you’ll learn how to connect specialist professionals with businesses delivering energy projects. Your focus will be contract and project-based hiring across engineering, construction, project controls, commissioning and operations.

This is an opportunity to join our Houston team at an early stage, build your own specialist market and develop into a successful 360° recruitment consultant.

What You’ll Do

• Research energy businesses, projects and specialist candidate markets
• Identify and approach professionals through targeted headhunting
• Assess candidates’ technical experience, availability, location and pay expectations
• Understand clients’ project requirements, hiring timelines and assignment durations
• Support recruitment processes from initial briefing through interviews, offers and contractor onboarding
• Build relationships with contractors throughout their assignments and support extensions and future opportunities
• Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with hiring managers
• Maintain accurate CRM records and build an active pipeline of candidates and client opportunities

What We’re Looking For

• An ambitious, commercially curious person interested in sales, recruitment and the energy industry
• Experience in sales, business development, account management, recruitment or another customer-facing environment is valuable, but previous recruitment experience is not essential
• Strong communication skills and confidence approaching new people
• The ability to absorb unfamiliar information and ask thoughtful questions
• A proactive, organised and resilient approach
• Coachability and the ability to put feedback into practice
• Motivation to achieve measurable goals and build a long-term career in specialist recruitment
