Job summary

Sydecar is hiring a Staff User Experience Designer to redefine our product experience as we scale. You will lead and mentor a small design team, partner with Product and Engineering, and drive research-informed design leadership across regulated financial workflows.

You’ll own end-to-end UX for deals, investors, and internal ops, balancing compliance with exceptional user experiences. Expect hands-on leadership and a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience, including at least 2 years as a lead/senior designer.
• Experience establishing or improving design processes on a team.
• Exceptionally strong hands-on design skills with a portfolio showing end-to-end UX ownership.
• Deep experience applying user research to strategy and execution.
• Strong background designing complex workflows or system-heavy products.
• Experience with design systems and UI libraries.
• Fintech or capital markets exposure in regulated environments preferred.
• Data-informed, outcome-oriented designer with execution bias.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and early-stage settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end UX for deal leads, investors, and internal teams.
• Drive design on high-impact initiatives from discovery through delivery.
• Translate complex, regulated workflows into intuitive experiences that build trust.
• Maintain high design quality while moving with startup speed.
• Partner with product managers to define problems and validate solutions.
• Mentor junior designers and help grow the design team.
