Job summary

Sydecar is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in San Francisco (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days in office) to lead large-scale initiatives and drive architectural decisions across core products. You will collaborate with Product, Design, Legal and Compliance to deliver cohesive platform-wide solutions and elevate investor/deal organizer experiences.

You will mentor engineers, shape roadmaps, and translate complex requirements into reliable, scalable services using TS/JS, NestJS, Prisma and PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with leadership impact.
• Experience building large-scale, high-reliability distributed backends in fintech/payments.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript proficiency and product intuition.

Responsibilities

• Lead large/complex projects and drive them to successful launches.
• Outline technology strategies with a 1–2 quarter horizon.
• Cultivate growth of full-stack engineers through mentorship.
• Shape product and design roadmaps and own architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Legal, Compliance and CX teams.
