Job summary

Stryker\'s Mako Robotics team is seeking a Staff level User Interface and Experience Designer to shape UI for robotic-assisted orthopedic surgery.

You will blend visual and interaction design with hands-on execution, translating complex workflows into production-ready specifications and UI components, while collaborating across engineering, product development, and design teams. This role is part of a distributed team valued for creativity, technical excellence, and ownership of deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in UI/UX discipline or related experience.
• 4+ years of professional UI/UX design experience.
• Proficiency with Figma and shared design systems.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive, visually consistent interfaces for Mako robotic-assisted surgery apps (THA focus).
• Create high-fidelity designs, layouts, interactive prototypes, and reusable UI components using Figma.
• Translate clinical workflows and user needs into functional, accessible interfaces.
• Develop detailed, production-ready UI specifications for development teams.
• Create and manage design assets, libraries, naming conventions, and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and cross-functional teams.
• Support design reviews, usability evaluations, and voice-of-customer activities.
