Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer in Warsaw, IN and Boston, MA to lead system requirements, risk analyses, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration for orthopedic robotic platforms.

You will drive architecture updates, interface control, and use-case development while ensuring compliance with medical device standards. Strong MBSE, design controls, and ALM experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in systems engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Advanced/Graduate degree preferred.
• Experience with orthopedic medical device product development.
• Experience with surgical navigation or robotics.
• Experience with Design Controls and requirements management in medical device development.
• Experience with ALM systems such as Polarion.
• Sustaining engineering and change management experience.
• Experience in system design verification and validation testing.
• Knowledge of IEC 60601, ISO 14971, ISO 13485 and 62366.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements management across multi-disciplined teams.
• Conduct system level risk analysis in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with subsystem teams on requirements and risk cascade.
• Develop system architectures, functional diagrams, and concepts.
• Evaluate multi-functional solutions to meet requirements.
• Develop use cases and user stories with partners.
• Provide ongoing systems engineering support to products.
• Analyze interfaces and ensure robust system integration.
• Coordinate with hardware, electrical, software, marketing, and testing teams.
• Support regulatory submissions and compliance with IEC 60601.
