Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Sr Principal Clinical Engineer based in the United States (Warsaw, IN) with global responsibilities across Raynham, MA and Leeds, UK. You will architect end-to-end surgical workflows, translating clinical and operational needs into integrated requirements for implant, instrument, digital, and service development.

The role requires a strong background in medical device design controls, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D and regulatory teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in medical device/orthopaedics product development or clinical workflow design.
• Proficiency with design tools and CAD software; strong visualization and prototyping skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end orthopedic procedural workflows across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
• Translate needs into technical requirements and development guidance.
• Collaborate with R&D, clinical, regulatory, quality and marketing teams.
• Evaluate concepts for usability, clinical relevance and adoption risk.
