Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Staff STA CAD Engineer at Samsung Austin Research and Development Center to ensure timing integrity and sign-off readiness for next‑generation GPU IPs used in premium smartphones.

You will collaborate with design and EDA partners to implement automation and scalable timing analysis flows. You will contribute to sign-off methodologies, investigate POCV and low‑power constraints, and apply AI to improve daily engineering tasks while driving

Qualifications

• 6+ years in engineering with a CS/EE degree, or 4+ years with a MS, or 2+ years with a PhD.
• Solid understanding of ASIC design flows and electrical fundamentals.
• Experience with LLE, POCV, derating methodologies, and timing analysis.
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard STA tools (PrimeTime, StarRC, PrimeClosure, Tempus).
• CTS, multi-volt and multi-clock designs; UPF knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide creative software/hardware solutions to support STA design teams.
• Adopt a software-first mindset to solve complex timing issues.
• Develop automation to simplify execution and reduce errors.
• Test and debug STA methodologies for new technology node bring-up.
• Contribute to timing sign-off flows and best practices.
