Job summary

Samsung Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) seeks a Staff STA CAD Engineer to ensure timing integrity and signoff readiness for next-generation GPU IPs used in premium smartphones. You will work with design teams to develop automation and methodologies for timing analysis across complex node designs.

You will leverage experience with LLE/POCV, CTS, and UPF, and apply scripting skills (Tcl/Python/Perl/Shell) to improve flows and enable scalable timing closure in a global, collaborative

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or 4+ years with a Master's, or 2+ years with a Ph.D.
• Solid understanding of ASIC design flows and electrical engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with LLE, POCV, derating methodologies, and timing analysis.
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard STA tools (PrimeTime, StarRC, PrimeClosure, Tempus).
• Experience with CTS, multi-voltage and multi-clock designs.
• Knowledge of formal equivalency checks, low-power checks, timing constraints, UPF.
• Scripting in Tcl, Python, Perl, Shell.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation and methodologies for timing analysis to ensure convergent strategies for complex designs.
• Collaborate with Design and EDA partners to implement robust STA flows and sign-off processes.
• Test and debug STA issues arising with new technology node bring-up.
• Contribute to STA best practices, POCV, multi-corner analysis, and low-power constraints to improve timing quality.
• Document analysis and results; communicate progress in a fast-paced, global team.
