Job summary

Apono, now part of 1Password, is seeking a Staff Solutions Engineer to act as the technical backbone for mid‑market sales cycles. You will run discovery, deliver tailored demos, and align technical architecture with customer outcomes.

You’ll partner with AE teams to move deals quickly, handle multiple opportunities, and translate complex requirements into repeatable, scalable solutions. Great storytelling and cloud/IAM know‑how are essential.

Qualifications

3–5 years in a technical Sales/Solutions Engineering/Solutions Architect role.
Hands-on with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Experience with Identity & Access Management (SAML/OIDC).
Experience with security tooling (PAM, ZTNA, IAM).
Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools.

Responsibilities

Design and run POVs: scope success criteria, configure environments, and guide customers to a clear outcome.
Lead technical discovery to understand customer stack, access model, and risk drivers.
Deliver tailored demos that map Apono to specific customer use cases.
Partner with Growth/Mid‑Market AEs to support the full technical sales cycle.
Answer RFP/RFI‑level technical questions and security due diligence (architecture, data flow, IAM model).
Translate requirements into proposed architectures across:
Build and refine repeatable assets for the mid‑market motion: demo flows, templates, talk tracks, sample configs.
Work with Product and Engineering to surface customer feedback and influence the roadmap.
Collaborate with Customer Success / Implementation for smooth handoff and fast time‑to‑value.
