Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Tech Lead, Scheduling to guide the technical direction of a scheduling platform with scalable backend systems and dependable data persistence.

You will partner with Product, Design, and engineering peers to deliver solutions that improve user experience, strengthen delivery, and support long-term platform growth. This role blends hands-on coding with leadership and architectural impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of back-end experience in Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented languages.
• Proficient with modern API design, including TypeScript, REST, and GraphQL, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or DynamoDB.
• Ability to design high-level technical solutions while staying connected to code-level execution.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and cross-team alignment.
• Proven track record of building partnerships across engineering, product, and customer success.
• Experience maintaining a high bar for quality in team deliverables.
• Strong customer empathy and a drive for thoughtful UX and continuous product improvement.

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Tech Lead, Scheduling to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will help shape the technical direction of a scheduling-focused platform, with an emphasis on scalable backend systems, thoughtful API design, and dependable data persistence. You will partner closely with Product, Design, engineering peers, and customer-facing teams to deliver solutions that improve user experience, strengthen team delivery, and support long-term platform growth. The position also calls for strong technical leadership, cross-functional alignment, and a hands-on approach that connects architecture decisions to code-level execution.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $193,000 - $309,000 annually
