Ladders is seeking a Staff Engineer - Client Services for a REMOTE US-based role in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. You will lead the technical direction for client-facing services and architect scalable backend solutions to support a high-growth consumer business.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and ensure reliable delivery from concept through deployment, partnering with product, engineering and cross-functional teams.

• 7+ years designing and building scalable backend services.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java with willingness to switch to Kotlin.
• Experience with modern backend frameworks and testing.

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Engineer - Client Services (REMOTE) to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.

This role will focus on leading the technical direction for client-facing services and delivering scalable backend solutions that support a high-growth consumer business. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to shape architecture, improve system reliability, and raise the bar for engineering quality. The position also calls for mentoring engineers, guiding technical decisions, and helping ensure smooth delivery from concept through deployment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $170,000 – $200,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical planning, design, and development of product features from inception to deployment.
