Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer on the Identity Team in San Diego to design and operate large-scale, secure, fault-tolerant systems. This role blends software development with site reliability to improve resiliency and automation across a Kubernetes/AWS-based platform.

You will build self-healing tools, observability, and automation while collaborating with Architecture, Product, and Operations to raise the bar for uptime and efficiency across 500+ applications.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering in cloud-native distributed systems in AWS/GCP.
• Experience using AI to build tools for operational problems.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go with strong operational skills.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CDK), CI/CD (Jenkins/CircleCI), Kubernetes, Docker/ECS, and monitoring tools like Splunk or Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade tools and self-healing systems.
• Develop self-service tools for troubleshooting at scale.
• Build and evolve observability components for large-scale systems.
• Contribute to cost and capacity management; automate optimization.
• Leverage AI to automate operational tasks and resilience.
• Mentor engineers, pair programming, and uphold high technical standards.
• Act as SME to drive resilient, secure software in AWS/GCP and Kubernetes.
