Job summary

Intuit Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Identity Team in San Diego, combining software development and site reliability. You will build and operate secure, fault-tolerant, scalable systems and contribute to automating operations and reliability across 500+ applications.

You will design tools, drive observability, and improve capacity and cost efficiency in a cloud-native Kubernetes/AWS environment, while mentoring peers and leading incident RCA efforts.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering in cloud-native environments.
• Experience using AI to build tools and solve complex operational problems.
• Proficient in Python, Java, or Go with strong operational skills.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CDK), CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker/ECS, and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade tools, automation, and self-healing systems.
• Develop self-service tools for troubleshooting at scale.
• Build observability components to detect and isolate issues across massive systems.
• Contribute to cost and capacity management with automation for optimization.
• Leverage AI to solve operational and auto-healing problems at scale.
• Mentor engineers and maintain a high technical bar.
