Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the FCM team to own architecture across the FCM core, including market data, routing, settlement, and risk. You will drive the next-gen replatforming, reduce legacy dependencies, and raise the technical bar with code reviews and standards.

Qualifications

8+ years of backend engineering experience in production-grade distributed systems.
Direct FCM or derivatives experience and ownership of lifecycle components.
Proficiency in a modern backend language (Go preferred; Java or similar).
Experience in regulated/financial environments with auditability requirements.
Track record delivering end-to-end with replatforming or migrations.

Responsibilities

Own design and architecture across the FCM core, from market data to risk.
Lead next-gen replatforming and reduce legacy vendor dependencies.
Set technical standards and reduce critical debt.
Collaborate across pods and with Product, Risk, Ops, Finance, and Compliance.
Mentor engineers and elevate code quality and architectural rigor.
