Job summary

Pearson's PSG-CP team seeks a forward deployed engineer who sits with customers and ships production AI software end-to-end. You will own the full stack—from data to deployment—working autonomously in ambiguous contexts and driving AI adoption across Pearson.

You will be embedded with stakeholders, design practical systems from messy inputs, and deliver working software quickly. 8+ years of experience and strong CS fundamentals are required, with cloud and integration skills highly valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience with production systems
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design
• Frontend depth with React, TypeScript, and component-based architecture
• Backend depth in Node.js, Java, Python; API design and auth
• Production LLM experience: prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and rapid iteration
• Data tooling and databases at a working level
• Cloud fluency across AWS/GCP/Azure; CI/CD and observability
• Integration experience with SSO, OAuth, third-party APIs
• High agency and ability to navigate ambiguity across teams
• Effective communication with executives and engineers

Responsibilities

• Go to the source of problems by working directly with internal stakeholders
• Conduct discovery by observing users and translating needs into buildable software
• Ship production AI applications and iterate quickly across engagements
• Own full-stack work: frontend, backend, data, deployment, observability
• Build end-to-end solutions using frontier LLMs, agents, and retrieval systems
• Codify patterns and push reusable components back to platform teams
