Job summary

Pearson is seeking a forward deployed engineer to join the PSG-CP team in Denver. You will embed with key business lines, turning vague problems into working software that ships in production.

You’ll own the full stack and drive AI adoption across Pearson, iterating quickly across engagements and delivering measurable results. Ideal candidates have 8+ years of full-stack experience, strong CS fundamentals, and deep cloud/LLM expertise.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience with production systems
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
• Frontend depth with React and TypeScript; robust UI design
• Backend depth across Node.js, Java, Python; API design and auth handling
• Production LLM experience with prompts, agents, evaluation, retrieval
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding
• Data tooling with Python; databases at working level
• Cloud/deployment fluency; CI/CD, containers, observability
• Integration experience with third-party APIs, SSO, OAuth
• High agency and ability to navigate ambiguity in large orgs
• Strong cross-group communication and stakeholder management
• Currency on evolving AI capabilities and product stacks
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is by working directly with internal stakeholders
• Perform real discovery by observing users and translating needs into buildable work
• Create working software early and iterate quickly in conversations
• Handle messy inputs and turn them into coherent solutions
• Ship production AI applications on LLMs, agents, and related tech
• Own full stack — frontend, backend, data, deployments, observability
• Codify patterns to reusable platform components for future teams
• Maintain long-term relationships with lines of business through engagements
