Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is hiring Staff Software Engineers for the Developer Infrastructure group. You will own CI/build systems, deployment orchestration, and platform tooling used by thousands of engineers to ship software.

You will define technical direction, lead cross-team initiatives, improve build times and reliability, and mentor engineers through design reviews and pairing. This remote-first, hybrid role requires strong distributed systems, Go or similar, and experience scaling production

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production distributed systems.
• Hands-on proficiency in Go or a comparable systems language.
• Direct experience in CI/CD, build systems, or deployment tooling.
• Proven technical leadership on cross-team initiatives.
• Strong problem solving and scale-focused design.

Responsibilities

• Own core developer infrastructure platforms, including CI/build systems and deployment orchestration, across the full lifecycle from design through production operation.
• Identify the group's highest-leverage problems and drive roadmaps across dependent teams.
• Improve build/CI wall time, deploy speed and safety, and developer feedback latency.
• Lead strategic, cross-cutting initiatives end to end, including large-scale platform migrations.
• Raise the reliability bar for developer infrastructure with SLOs, observability, and on-call readiness.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, and shared ownership while shaping technical strategy.
