Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer who will serve as both a Technical Lead and individual contributor to build our next‑generation platform, focusing on scalable microservices, cloud initiatives, and AI‑driven features.

You will design solutions, review code, mentor junior developers, collaborate with architects and business tech leaders, and drive delivery excellence while solving real customer challenges in a fast‑moving digital health environment.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience delivering enterprise solutions in large-scale distributed environments.
5+ years of Java development experience.
5+ years of hands-on enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
3+ years of Agile-based development experience.
2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions meeting business and quality standards.
Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability to meet objectives.
Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
Coordinate with team members to ensure alignment, provide technical insights, and aid decision-making.
Promote adoption of best practices and new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
Lead knowledge-sharing activities (code reviews, tech talks) to foster learning and collaboration.
Work with developers to implement complex features and deliver high-quality code.
Provide mentorship to junior developers and support their growth.
