Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead and contribute as both a technical lead and individual contributor. You will help build our next-generation platform, design scalable microservices, and develop proof-of-concepts to address customer challenges.

You will collaborate with architects and senior engineers, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior developers while driving delivery excellence and adopting new technologies across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise solutions in large-scale distributed environments.
• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
• 3+ years of experience working on CI/CD Pipeline automation.
• 3+ years of experience working in an Agile-based development environment.
• 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality guidelines.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to align on decisions and insights.
• Support adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops to foster learning.
• Collaborate with other developers to implement complex features and deliver high-quality code.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers to grow technical skills.
