Job summary

Partner Company, listed via Jobgether, seeks a Staff Software Engineer specializing in constraint generation and motion planning for autonomous trucking in the United States. You will lead end-to-end delivery, shaping software architecture and working with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable trajectories.

You will write high-performance C++ and Python for compute-constrained onboard platforms, drive verification, and collaborate across autonomy, systems, and mapping domains.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C++ and Python for resource-constrained computing environments.
• Experience with real-world robotics or autonomous systems.
• Strong understanding of motion planning concepts.
• Ability to own complex engineering problems across full SDLC.
• Experience with testing and validation in demanding environments.
• Familiarity with unit testing, simulation-based testing, or log simulation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of motion planning and constraint generation features from design to deployment.
• Translate requirements into robust software that generates safe, reliable trajectories for autonomous trucks.
• Own complex technical challenges and coordinate interfaces to maintain a simple, scalable architecture.
• Contribute to long-term software architecture and product roadmaps.
• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance software in C++ and Python for compute-constrained environments.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to meet safety and product requirements.
• Work with trajectory generation, world fusion, perception, and other teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Partner with verification teams to establish testing practices, including unit testing and simulation.
• Evaluate system behavior and iterate to improve on-road performance and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and align stakeholders around effective solutions.
• Contribute across the autonomous decision-making stack with transferable engineering skills.
