DePuy Synthes in Boston, MA is recruiting a Staff Software Engineer for the Infrastructure R&D team. You will architect and lead development of high‑performance on‑device medical software that securely connects to cloud for telemetry, control, diagnostics and over‑the‑air updates.

You’ll collaborate with systems, hardware and regulatory partners to deliver safe, scalable software for patient outcomes, mentor junior engineers, participate in design reviews, and help shape secure IoT edge

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE required; Master’s a plus.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• 2+ years of leadership in Agile/Scrum as SW SME.
• Strong full‑stack C#/.NET development and OO design.
• Hands-on experience on embedded Windows targets with device controllers.
• Proven experience building secure connected/IoT edge applications (TLS, device identity).
• SDLC in a regulated environment; requirements, design, testing, traceability, release.
• Strong debugging/profiling on Windows; CI/CD experience.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence architecture reviews.
• Ability to work in Boston and travel up to 10%.

Responsabilidades

• Architect major software features and deliver development plans.
• Participate in product planning to define timelines.
• Build production-grade on-device apps in C#/.NET for Windows; integrate with clinical/local/cloud services.
• Work with relational and embedded databases (SQLite); design schemas and optimize queries.
• Develop concurrent, multi-threaded components and REST API services.
• Design secure device-to-cloud connectivity using IoT and TLS.
• Apply secure coding for cybersecurity and patient safety; device identity and key management.
• Build cloud-backed backends in Azure for telemetry and fleet operations.
• Drive quality with unit/integration/system tests, profiling, observability, and CI/CD.
• Contribute to regulatory documentation and IEC 62304/ISO 14971 guidance; support FDA submissions.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum; mentor engineers; lead design/code reviews.
