Job summary

Lucid Motors seeks a Staff Systems Engineer for High Voltage Battery Software to drive development and integration of proprietary BMS software. You will bridge mid-stage prototypes to production releases, ensuring energy storage and powertrain systems operate safely, efficiently, and with high performance.

Qualifications

• Requires 7+ years in BMS development or energy storage systems for safety-critical, real-time embedded systems.
• Translates high-level system requirements into low-level embedded hardware/software requirements.
• Experience with requirement management tools such as JAMA, Polarion, or 3DX.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, or MATLAB/Simulink for telemetry analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional decomposition to translate vehicle-level requirements into BMS and energy storage requirements.
• Perform system analysis and simulations to architect robust, scalable BMS frameworks.
• Collaborate with safety and reliability teams to perform FMEA, FTA and safety analysis.
• Define verification procedures and clear PASS/FAIL criteria for requirement verification.
• Leverage large-scale telemetry and fleet-health analytics to monitor battery performance and diagnose issues.
• Develop, validate, and rapidly deploy OTA software mitigations to improve battery safety and longevity.
• Own configuration management, versioning, and release processes to ensure reproducible deliveries.
