Job summary

Axon in Seattle is seeking a Staff Software Engineer on our Justice & Corrections team. You will help prosecutors, public defenders and corrections officers manage enormous workloads and improve fairness and efficiency of the system.

As a technical leader, you will shape architecture, drive scalable cloud services, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and design to deliver customer-focused solutions. This hybrid role requires in-office collaboration Tue–Fri.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience driving technical strategy across multiple teams.
• Experience building large scale cloud services with databases and queuing systems.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable cloud-based systems.
• Backend cloud experience in Java, Scala, Go, C#, or similar.
• Frontend experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React/Angular.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
• Ability to collaborate with product and engineers to create backlogs.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, drive major projects from design to production.
• Set a high bar on standards of excellence, provide deep technical insights during architecture design reviews.
• Mentor and grow engineers into Senior and Staff levels.
• Obsess over customers, work backwards to build right solutions.
• Build services with high availability, performance, and security for mission-critical space.
• Stay up-to-date with latest technologies and frameworks.
