Job summary

Axon is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for Real Time Operations in Seattle. You will design, build and lead critical systems across cloud, web and mobile to support real-time crime center capabilities for emergency responders.

You will mentor senior engineers and collaborate with Product, Design and other teams to deliver impactful features. You will work with device data, streams and maps to present actionable information, enabling faster, safer decisions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record of designing and building complex, highly-available cloud systems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL data storage.
• Experience with stream processing (Message brokers).
• Nice to have frontend: React, Redux, Typescript.
• Nice to have mobile apps iOS/Android.
• Nice to have Maps/Cartography.
• Mentored and grown other senior software engineers.
• Ability to empathize with customers and collaborate with product/design.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical leader of device state/notifications, partner integration and mobile apps teams for Real Time Operations division.
• Lead designs of major software components, systems, and features.
• Review architecture designs from senior engineers and enforce high availability, performance and usability.
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and lead design reviews.
• Assess top engineering risks and guide strategic initiatives.
• Mentor and coach other senior engineers and grow future technical leaders.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver on the roadmap.
• Deliver groundbreaking experiences to improve safety and efficiency for users globally.
