Smile Digital Health is seeking a Staff Software Developer to lead and mentor teams while delivering core healthcare data platform features. You will drive technical decisions, design scalable services, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to advance clinical intelligence projects.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, high coding standards, and guidance to junior engineers across cloud, containers, and data pipelines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in the software development lifecycle, 4+ years in senior or staff roles.
• Proven experience building software with strong unit and functional testing practices.
• Expertise in backend development using Java and Spring Boot; microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement Smile Digital Health’s core application features.
• Lead sessions for new features and provide high-level design estimates.
• Analyze and resolve complex challenges; ensure interoperable, performant, maintainable solutions.
