Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead and contribute as both Technical Lead and Individual Contributor on our next-generation platform. You will help build scalable microservices and cloud-based APIs to enable digital health solutions and improved customer experiences.

You will design and review code, mentor junior developers, and partner with architects and IT leaders to optimize performance, reliability, and delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise solutions in a large-scale distributed software environment.
• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of cloud initiatives and solutions with cloud technologies.
• 5+ years designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years in an Agile development environment.
• 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions meeting business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on feasibility, performance, and scalability to ensure objectives are met.
• Participate in code reviews to enforce coding standards and best practices.
• Communicate with team members to align on technical decisions and deliverables.
• Promote adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops.
• Collaborate with developers to implement complex features and improve existing functionality.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers to grow technical capabilities.
