Job summary

Sydecar seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to build and scale its internal developer platform. You’ll own pipelines, automate releases, and strengthen security across the engineering org. You’ll collaborate with product teams and mentor teammates in a fast-paced, high-trust environment.

Hybrid role based in San Francisco or New York City, with in-office days 2–3 per week. Strong focus on reliability, observability, and scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software or platform engineering experience.
• Proficiency with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and release engineering.
• Track record of improving developer velocity and release safety at scale.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted software development workflows.
• Ownership mindset and strong collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the internal developer platform — CI/CD pipelines, build/deploy automation, and environments.
• Design, operate, and scale core shared services and cloud infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Advance release automation and test automation for safe, low-risk deployments.
• Strengthen the platform's security posture across the engineering org.
• Partner with product teams to set standards and enable cross-team collaboration.
• Lead projects from concept through deployment with focus on scalability.
• Mentor engineers and participate in architecture reviews.
