Job summary

Netskope is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Endpoint Data Protection team to design, implement, and enhance client software for cloud security solutions. You will tackle challenging data security problems for enterprise customers, delivering robust backend services and scalable architectures.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural direction, and promote best practices across code quality, CI/CD, and observability while collaborating with product and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years building and operating highly available, distributed backend systems in production.
• Strong experience designing and developing large-scale backend services using Golang.
• Experience deploying and scaling services in cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end from design through production deployment.
• Set architectural direction of backend distribution APIs and services for high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Prioritize initiatives and manage risks to ensure timely delivery.
• Champion engineering best practices across code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
• Establish standards for monitoring, alerting, and on-call processes.
• Lead thorough code reviews and mentor engineers to foster ownership and improvement.
• Influence AI development practices and promote knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to technical documentation and cross-team collaboration.
