Job summary

Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is seeking a senior engineer to design, build, and improve Stellar Core—the backbone of the Stellar Network. You will work with CTO and a community of developers to implement scalable, robust features and ensure high performance.

You’ll own core subsystems, contribute to RFCs, and help scale the distributed system while maintaining clean, reusable code in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing software on a team.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Proficiency in modern C++ or Rust in production.
• Strong communicator capable of leading technical discussions during design and code reviews.
• Solid understanding of design patterns and buildingReusable, extensible components.
• Knowledge of best practices and development tools; passion for innovation.
• Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
• Thrives in a small, autonomous team and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build key components of Stellar Core—the backbone of the Stellar Network.
• Design and develop robust, scalable technologies for developers and network participants.
• Collaborate on architectures with CTO, engineers, and open-source community.
• Write clean, maintainable code with attention to edge cases and future-proofing.
• Own core subsystems of Stellar Core and help meet critical milestones.
• Participate in code reviews and define engineering best practices.
• Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks to sustain scaling.
• Publish RFCs and technical specifications for review and adoption.
