Job summary

Stellar Development Foundation is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and implement Stellar Core components, improving ledger maintenance and global consensus. The role emphasizes performance, scalability, and collaboration with a small, autonomous team including the CTO and open-source contributors.

You will work on edge cases, push for robust architectures, and engage in RFC-driven design while keeping code clean and maintainable.

Qualifications

• You have 8+ years of experience developing software on a team.
• You excel in writing code in modern C++ or Rust in a production environment.
• You are a strong communicator and capable of leading technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build key components of Stellar Core - the backbone software behind the Stellar Network.
• Develop scalable, robust, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
• Collaborate on architectures with the CTO, engineers, and the open source community.
• Write clean, maintainable code with attention to edge cases and future-proofing.
• Own core subsystems and contribute to RFC processes; investigate performance bottlenecks.
