Job summary

The Stellar Development Foundation is hiring a C++ Engineer to help design and evolve Stellar Core, the distributed engine powering the Stellar Network. You will work on high-scale distributed systems used by developers, institutions, and builders worldwide.

We seek at least 4 years of software development on a team, strong C++ (or Rust) production experience, and excellent communication skills. This is a hybrid role based in the United States with competitive compensation and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing software on a team.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Proficient in modern C++ or Rust in production.
• Strong communication and design-review skills.
• Knowledge of patterns for reusable, modular components.
• Interest in performance optimization and benchmarking.

Responsibilities

• Design and build key components of Stellar Core.
• Develop scalable, extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
• Collaborate on architectures with CTO and open-source community.
• Write clean, maintainable code with edge-case focus.
• Own core subsystems and help hit milestones.
• Refine performance bottlenecks and scale the system.
